After running a flea market for a few years in JESTORY, I was able to hear stories from Jeju's artists who make the souvenirs
At that time, the system was mainly a consignment system, receiving only the amount of supplies sold after a month, which was a disturbing factor for artists
So what we started with three principles in JESTORY to create a stable system is now attracting the largest visitors to the handmade market.

Some of the characteristics are,

✔ There are souvenirs made of haenyeo's clothes.
It has been revealed that the haenyeo uniforms worn every year on Jeju Island are scattered and incinerated. At the request of Seogwipo City Hall, a project to upcycle discarded haenyeo clothes was launched.
Discarded haenyeo uniforms are being recycled into souvenirsthrough Jestory, so the haenyeo uniforms that are collected now, no matter how small they are, are never thrown away. This is because it is used as a part of dozens of souvenirsthat symbolize Jeju.
✔ Tewak and netsari, as souvenirsmade by current female divers, are continuously being made and combined with collaboration souvenirsfrom various artists to create new souvenirs.
✔ We are creating Teddy Jeju characters such as Teddy Hareubang, Teddy Haenyeo, and Teddy Gyuri using a teddy bear artist who has been making teddy bears for the past 40 years and luxurious souvenirssymbolizing Jeju.
The spirit of 40 years of craftsmanship is infused into various products such as dolls, stationery, plaster air fresheners, golf equipment, and ceramics.
✔ Singer Choi Seong-won, who wrote, composed and sang Wild Chrysanthemum Group's Blue Night of Jeju Island and Everyday You, makes music boxes and Jeju songs that represent Jeju.
In addition, we are creating emotional souvenirsthat symbolize Jeju in a way that has not been done before, such as having four artists participate in making one souvenirs.
Jeju souvenirsare not just souvenirs, they are becoming a part of culture.
